What is a vitamin C IV drip?
Vitamin C is an antioxidant nutrient that the body can’t make for itself, so it has to come from what we eat. As an antioxidant, it helps neutralise free radicals, unstable molecules that can damage our cells.
When it’s taken by mouth, the gut can only absorb so much at a time. Given as an IV, vitamin C goes directly into the bloodstream, so higher levels can be reached than with tablets. It contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress, and is thought to support the body’s natural renewal of healthy cells, the immune system and the skin’s collagen.
